8-25-07 The Cleaner by Brett Battles

5 - This is an excellent thriller. Packed with action, "The Cleaner" moves quickly and pulls the plot piece by piece into a satisfying end. The story of a cleaner (if you've ever seen a Mob movie, you know what he does) who is suddenly a target himself. The cleaner, Quinn, and his apprentice Nate go on the run while trying to figure out who put the hit on Quinn. As they get deeper into the shit, a woman from Quinn's past agrees to help them. Likable characters and great plot progression make this a fantastic read.

8-20-07 Lamb by Christopher Moore - Fiction

3 - The subtitle of this book is "The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal" so you know it's a typical Moore book. But it just didn't have the total wackiness of his other books. The majority of the book takes place during Christ's life from age 6 to age 30, the missing years in the gospels. Maybe it's because he was writing about a historical time and an unfamiliar place that it wasn't as funny. The funniest parts of this book are the current day notes by Biff. He rags on everyone and everything but especially on Raziel, the same angel from 'The Stupidest Angel.'

8-11-07 Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer - Fiction

5 - Meyer has done a fantastic job. She ties the pack to the coven with a common enemy and with Bella being torn between two loves. Bella and Edward's relationship deepens even more even as Bella's relationship with Jacob becomes more complicated. And the addition of a vampire army allows us to hear Jasper's story. We also learn Rosalie's story which explains a lot about her as a character. I really can't say enough about how great these books are!

8-8-07 New Moon by Stephenie Meyer - Fiction

5 - New characters and new quandaries. Now I'm totally hyped to start 'Eclipse.'

8-5-07 Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - Fiction

5 - I still love this book. I'm rereading in anticipation of her release of book three, 'Eclipse', on 8-7-07. It's really her character development that grabs you.

8-1-07 Like Death by Tim Waggoner - Fiction

2 - If H.P. Lovecraft wrote hard-core porn. That's my best description of this book. I'm not easily turned off or super squeamish but it really was disgusting. The basic storyline really wasn't too bad, but I almost put this book down for good many times. Blech! Now I need to go shower.
